I made this Baby Jungle Cake for a friend that I work with.

She had a jungle baby shower theme. I replicated the animals she had on a quilt.

I molded them from fondant. The palm tree is also fondant. I had so much fun making this cake. I made the animals a little in advance then constructed the cake.

For the palm tree, I rolled fondant into a log then stuck a dowel rod through it. I stuck it into the top of the cake then used scissors & cut the bark on the sides.

The leaves were made from the Wilton leaf press. She really enjoyed the cake so it was a success!

i really loved the cake. i make a lot of cakes but i have never tried to make animals like those . i bet it was really hard keep up the good work

This cake sounds perfect for this baby shower, but i can think of a thousand other types of parties that this would be perfect too! anyone i know would be THRILLED to receive a cake like that! AMAZING!!!!!!

What an awesome design! Clever to copy the animals from a quilt - they are absolutely adorable and look like a little one could just pick them up and play with them. Who could ever settle for a plain old sheet cake if they have seen one like this jungle cake. Only wish you could keep the cakes forever and not need to cut them up. This is a true work of art.

Another creative one by this baker. She must spend hours creating the themes, her customers must be ecstatic to have her one-of-a-kind cakes.

The animals are adorable, and the palm tree idea is simply amazing. Fondant gives it a smooth touch, the colors are vibrant and eye catching. A masterpiece that I am sure the new mom enjoyed.

And, how creative to match it to her nursery theme. And by having each layer being a different flavor, I'm sure the shower guests each had something they liked.

Very creative! Very detailed! A winner.
