Baby Shower Prize Ideas

Some great baby shower prize ideas that I've given in the past and for an upcoming baby shower are:

  • Bottle of pink wine with a nice box of chocolates

  • Bath and Body works lotion and body wash

  • Pier One picture frame with a candle

  • Starbucks coffee with Starbucks chocolate or a $5 Starbucks gift card

  • Bottle of Merlot w/dark chocolate

  • I try to get anything girly and classy that will interest the entire group and make games more fun - otherwise, no one wants to play for a cheap prize!

  • Give a nice package of coffee, two coffee cups in a clear bag and tie a bow to match your colors of the shower

  • Give a small bath gift basket with lotion, body wash, bath salts, bath beads, candles for a nice bubble bath

  • Give nail polish, nail polish remover, finger nail file, clippers, and such as that and place in a clear bag tie with ribbon to match the color of the shower

You can wrap the prizes in clear cello and tie with a pretty bow so everyone can see what they are playing to win.

Display the baby shower prizes on a table with a pretty tablecloth.

I didn't want to spend the money on baby socks so I created diapers.

1. Place 1/4 cup m&ms or small jelly beans in the corner of a sandwich bag. Tape off above the candy and cut off extra.

2. Cut pieces of white fabric into a 5x5 square. Fold in triangle, place baggy "in" diaper like a baby. Bring center up and the sides in, securing with a small safety pin.

3. Use ribbon on top to decorate. some tape may be required to keep diaper in place.

Fortune Cookie Baby Shower Favors

Fortunate Baby - baby shower fortune cookies

I am doing my sisters shower and I dipped one side of a fortune cookie in white chocolate and put pink sprinkles on it (its a girl).

Then I got mini sized Chinese take out boxes at a craft store and I am wrapping them up to put inside. On the handle I am taking a tag and some ribbon and putting "We're so "fortunate" to have a new baby girl in the family. Welcome Baby Avonlee!"

The fortune cookies in the picture can be found at Beau-Coup.com. They come pre dipped in chocolate and contain personalized baby shower fortunes.

For a cute food idea to go with the Asian theme, serve the main course in to go take out containers. You can find these at the dollar store.

Some great food ideas that guests will love are:

*Oriental Chicken Salad (they have kits to make these at Costco)

*Rice & Teriyaki chicken or beef (you can also skewer the meat)

*Stir Fry

*Yakisoba noodles and vegetables

Serve food with chopsticks.

For snacks you can have Asian Cracker Mix in bowls (also found at Costco)

Baby Shower Candles

by Sherry
(Kentucky)

For my sister's baby shower (she was having a girl), I bought various scented Yankee Candles in the small jars and I printed out the following poem on clear labels and stuck it onto the jar's (the back side):

With the flicker of this candle's flame,
say a prayer in baby's name.

Then I put each candle jar in a small pink see-thru draw-string bag.

They were a hit!!

Everyone loved them and of course, everyone loves Yankee candles.

You can also use a tea-light candle, wrap it in blue or pink tulle and attach a tag with the poem on it.

You can even try to find pink, blue or yellow tea-light candles. Needless to say, this is MUCH cheaper.

Baby Shower Candy Bouquet

Candy Bouquet {Image found at http://www.chocolate-candy-mall.com/Charmingly_Chocolate-candy-bouquet-chocolate-bouquets.html}

To make this cute "Baby Shower Candy Bouquet" prize:

Glue each candy bar to a wooden skewer (you can use regular sized candy bars or the miniature version, your choice) and arrange them as you would flowers in a flower pot or vase.

To make the skewers stay in the vase and not move all around you can add a block of green floral foam (found at any craft store) and then insert the pointy side of each skewer into the floral foam. Place some shredded colored paper in the vase first so you can't see the floral foam.

If using a flower pot, place the foam in and glue the shredded paper on top to cover.

Add a cute ribbon and a cute tag saying "You're SWEET! Congratulations!"

TIP: This Baby Shower Candy Bouquet makes the perfect baby shower prize idea for the popular "Candy Bar Game" (you can find the complete instructions for the Candy Bar Game here)

It also makes a great prize for the "Dirty Diaper Game" which can be found here

If using this as a prize for the above game(s) use the candy bars that are used in the games for the bouquet.

Baby Bracelet Favors

by Kerri Moss
(South Africa)

Baby Bracelet Favors

My sister in law is having a
"Surf - Hawaiian - Beach" themed baby shower.

For our thank you gifts, I am making "baby" bracelets in bright colours.

They are essentially friendship bracelets made from embroidery thread. the ends also have a bead on that says- "made with love."

The idea is, that every women attending will receive one as a thank you gift.

She has to wear the bracelet until baby is born.

This is to honor Mom-to-be and all the mom's attending. It is also a reminder for everyone.

I thought it was a sweet idea. Just end to think of a cute "thank you note" to attach to each one.

Minature Diapers Corsage or Game

I wanted to do something a little different so I created the Mini Diapers that could be used as a Game or Favor.

To use as a game (similar to the Dirty Diper Game) Party City sells the game that is made out of card stock) I use felt that you can buy from Hobby Lobby in different colors. I like to keep it neutral white with sparkles.

You cut them out into the same diaper shape maybe just a little bigger then I hot glue lace around the edges and stick a bow in the middle (Be Very carful with the glue gum this is a very tedious job but it can be done)

To use as a game I cut a bottle print from ribbon and hot glue it under the flap-to use as a Favor, I insert a small pack of candy preferably the size of tic tacs something that is sealed.

They make beautiful pieces and takes time to do but once you get the hang of it... these pieces are beautiful whether you are using lace for a girl or ribbon for a boy you can really be creative.

Also in the pictures are favors for can and bottles, they are placed over the top as holders..I made these for a Hawiian Theme baby shower I made differet colors.

You can also get creative for the prizes for diferent games, you can get a clear mug from the Dollar Tree and fill it with wrapped candy put a teddy bear on the side and call it the Candy Count; whoever comes the closet in guessing the amount wins the cup filled with candy and the teddy bear (they have to say the number out loud as it is examined and passed around the room) Everyone loves prizes so why not make it creative.

Cute Baby Shower Favor Idea

by Cindy Lopez & Jessica Rodriguez
(Portage, Indiana)

Cute Baby Shower Favor Idea (can also be used for baby shower favors)

My family has been using this for the past 3 years. My youngest sister first this did for my baby shower and we've used it at most family and friend showers ever since.

Using the small sandwich paper bags (brown, white or colored bags) fill them with either:

1) place a small bottle of dish washing liquid soap with a scrubbing pad

2) a small bottle of acetone (nail polish remover) with a nail filer, nail clipper or clear nail polish.

The idea is to have 2 items in each bag to keep the cost to a minimum. We've had so many compliments from women who purchase these items for themselves anyways.

Its practical and it makes me feel good knowing our prizes will be used.

Also, we've tied the two items inside the bag with curly ribbon and have added a label to the outside of the bag reading "You're a winner at _____ Baby's Shower"... It just adds a personal touch to the prize.

Good luck and hope you like this idea!

Bun In The Oven Baby Shower Favors

This is such a great and festive baby shower favor to give! Everyone loves cinnamon rolls so why not give them as favors!

For my baby shower, all the guests received a wrapped up cinnamon roll from a bakery.

Hanging from the ribbon holding the wrap together was a tag that said, "Thank you, from mommy-to-be's name bun in the oven." Everyone loved the idea and the cinnamon rolls were extra yummy!

Editor's Note (Amy)

You can also make your own quick and easy cinnamon rolls

1 8 oz can Pillsbury Crescent Dinner Rolls

1/4 C softened butter

4 tsp sugar

2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 C raisins (optional)

1/2 C powdered sugar

1 Tbsp milk

Heat oven to 375°.

Unroll dough and separate into 4 rectangles.

Spread 1 Tbsp of butter over each dough rectangle.

In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon.

Sprinkle over each rectangle.

Sprinkle each with raisins (optional).

Roll up each rectangle by starting at the short end.
Pinch edges to seal.

Using a knife, cut each roll into 5 slices.

Place slices, cut side down, in ungreased 9 inch square pan.

Bake 16 to 22 minutes or until golden brown.

Cool for 5 minutes.

To make the glaze, mix powdered sugar and milk together with a wire whisk and pour over the baked cinnamon rolls.

Wrap up in cute clear bags and attach a cute favor tag. Tie with ribbon or bakers twine.

You can also find cute cinnamon roll candles at Amazon.com. Simply do a search for: "cinnamon roll candles"

Baby Shower Favors - Baby in Shell Cradles

Baby Shower Favor - Baby in Shell Cradles

I had bought some Mussels in the shells at the store for dinner, and after we ate them, I decided to wash them out and dry them as I KNEW I would be able to come up with some Baby Shower idea for them.

I wound up spray painting the outside and inside white, and letting them dry really well.

Then I cut out pink and blue felt ovals in the shape and size of the inside of one of the sides of the shell. I hot glued one color inside each and then I bought tiny 1 inch babies from Hobby Lobby (20 for $1.99) and hot glued its little back side and laid it in on top of the felt. Voila! Instant Baby in a Shell Cradle!!!

They are so cute and can be given as favors to each guest, or used as Decorations on tables. You could type up little "Thank you for attending" tags and attach them if you want to.

Hand Sanitizer Baby Shower Favors

(SC)

Hand Sanitizer Baby Shower Favors

Hand Sanitizer Baby Shower Favors

I'm planning a girl baby shower.

I went to Bath and body works and got mini hand sanitizers in "sweet pea" scent.

The theme of the baby shower is "Thin Pink" and the Sweet Pea sanitizer was pink, so along with the name "Sweet pea" it was perfect.

I also got matching candles for everyone in the same scent!

Some wording ideas you might use on fbaby shower favor tags are:

* Use a squirt to rid the dirt

* Squirt away to keep the germs at bay

* Take a squirt before holding the little squirt (good to use if the baby has been born already and you are having an open house type of baby shower for guests to stop in and visit the baby)

* Get rid of the Cooties before holding our Cutie!

* Because not everything little is cute!

* One "Little Squirt" Won't Hurt

* It's the Little Things in Life That Matter

* Clean is cute

* Be germ free, for little 'ole me!

On the backside of the favor tags you can put the date of the baby shower and the name of the mom-to-be.

I also found cute, personalized hand sanitizer baby shower favors at Beau-Coup.com

Co-ed Baby Shower Favors

by Soni

Co-ed Baby Shower Favors and Prizes

Co-ed Baby Shower Favors and Prizes

Co-ed Baby Shower Favors and Prize Ideas

I hosted my first baby shower and it was a couples baby shower.

My biggest problem was finding guy-type co-ed baby shower favors and game gifts.

I wanted fun items that were reusable. Favors that they wouldn't just toss out or leave sitting around collecting dust.

I tried to think like a guy! So I ended up in the auto/car care section of a Walmart (although you can go anywhere) and found lots of cool, inexpensive car (guy) goodies.

Air fresheners, special themed keys, window stickers, chammy cloths, Armor All, tools, etc... They were a smash hit with my guy friends!

For the wives and girlfriends I had nail polish, coffee gift cards, bath stuff such as soaps, lotions and bath beads.

I had a "Guy" table and a "Girl" table for the favors to sit on. The guy table had a camouflage table cloth with a cute streamer going along the edges of it that was made using a fishing wire with several items tied to it such as golf tees, golf balls, peanuts in the shell, beer caps, fishing lures, etc. The favors where on the table for the men to take as they left the baby shower.

The "Girl" table had a pink table cloth with a pink feathered boa for the streamer. The boa was bedazzled with rhinestones, glitter and sequins!

This was so much fun to do and it really didn't take all that much time. The guests got a kick out of it!

It made the shower have a fun and relaxed feel instead of the uncomfortable, stuffy feeling you get at some baby showers.

If you are looking for a baby shower favor or prize ideas that will fit both men and women so you don't have to buy separate favors the candy barrels above would be perfect! Everyone loves candy and I think you can get a baby carriage put on the front of them! These can be found at Beau-Coup.com

A few more great gender neutral baby shower prize and favor ideas are:

Gift cards to a coffeehouse or Starbucks with a coffee mug

A gift card to the movie theater with a pack of candy or popcorn make great prizes for Co-Ed shower games!

These can be less than $10 easily, making it great for showers with lots of games!

Baby Bottle Bath Salts

Baby Bottle Bath Salts
{picture from www.etsy.com/shop/ScrubsbyStudds}

Baby Bottle Bath Salts

My friend makes these great bath salts.

So when I was asked to do a baby shower for one of my friends, I asked my friend to make me 3 large mason jars of bath salts in pink and purple.

I made 20 favors of bath salts.

First I poured the salts into the bottles, tied a ribbon around the bottle that said "its a girl" and attached a cute tiny pacifier on the ribbon.

These favors were a huge hit and a great way to thank guests for coming to the baby shower!

Note from editor (Amy):

I love this baby shower favor idea!

Below is a wonderful bath salt recipe that is quick and easy!

* 1 pound sea salt, epsom salt, or a mixture of both

* 20 drops of any essential oil scent (mandarin, almond or vanilla are popular) - you can buy essential oils at vitamin supplement stores, health food stores, etc.

* Add a few drops of food coloring to match the theme of the baby shower. (optional)

You can pour the bath salts into little baby bottles and add a cute ribbon and favor tag!

Or, (I saw this on a blog recently and it was adorable) fill a mason jar with bath salts, add the lid and a cute ribbon, then glue a baby bottle nipple to the top of the mason jar to resemble a bottle. Using mason jars will take up more of your bath salts, so this option may be better to give away as prizes for baby shower games.

Another idea is to make a bath salt, sachet making station where guests can make their own cute baby shower favors in the scent of their choice.

Start by purchasing several different kinds of already made bath salts in different colors and scents.

Pour them each into separate ceramic or glass bowls.

Place the bowls at a decorated table and add wooden scoops or regular spoons into each bowl.

At the table also have circle netting or organza pouches (you can find these at your local dollar store) along with some spools of ribbon.

Each guest can pick out the salts she likes, tie it into a sachet and create her own favor right on the spot!

Christmas Baby Shower Favors

Cookie Baby Shower Favors {image found at: http://oneordinaryday.wordpress.com/2010/03/11/thin-mints/}

Below are a few of my favorite Christmas and Holiday themed baby shower favor and prize ideas!

*This is an amazing favor idea that tastes absolutely delicious! ...and it is so simple to make! There are a whopping TWO ingredients required!

Take a bag of Andes Creme De Menthe baking chips, put them into a bowl and microwave them in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted.

Using a fork, dip a Ritz cracker into the bowl of melted chocolate and lay onto waxed paper to cool.

When completely cool place 5 cookies each into cute bags and tie with a ribbon or bakers twine.

*Get some mini gift boxes (at craft stores) and fill them with little candies. Then wrap the boxes in plain red, green or white paper and tie a cute Christmas-themes ribbon around each box.

You can even tie on a cute decoration such as a min candy cane or mini ornament.

Attach a cute little gift tag that says thank you and includes the shower info (date, mother's name)
Pass out to each guest as they leave.

*Hand out miniature Poinsettia plants as favors or prizes. Include a cute favor tag that says "Happy Holidays - A Baby's Blooming!"

*Another Christmas favor idea is to tie a winter-themed bow around a candy cane along with a cute gift tag that has the shower info on it. Stamp with a holiday stamp or sticker.

*Visit Bath And Body Works and look for their adorable miniature holiday candles, hand sanitizers, hand lotions, lip gloss. Bundle up in a cute bag and attach a favor tag and a cute bow! These are something that will be used by the guests and won't just get thrown away when they get home.

*Hand out cute ornaments

*Put some cocoa mix in a clear bag and place in a holiday mug. Add a candy cane and wrap in cellophane. Tie with a cute bow and a gift tag the reads: Happy Holidays ~ You're so sweet! Thanks for coming to _______'s baby shower!

*Give $5 Starbucks gift cards - they have cute packaging ideas at Starbucks like little mittens and gift boxes.

Thanks for the great ideas Gina! For more cute Christmas baby shower ideas...visit our new Christmas theme page!
