Baby Shower Prize Ideas

Some great baby shower prize ideas that I've given in the past and for an upcoming baby shower are:

  • Bottle of pink wine with a nice box of chocolates
  • Bath and Body works lotion and body wash
  • Pier One picture frame with a candle
  • Starbucks coffee with Starbucks chocolate or a $5 Starbucks gift card
  • Bottle of Merlot w/dark chocolate
  • I try to get anything girly and classy that will interest the entire group and make games more fun - otherwise, no one wants to play for a cheap prize!
  • Give a nice package of coffee, two coffee cups in a clear bag and tie a bow to match your colors of the shower
  • Give a small bath gift basket with lotion, body wash, bath salts, bath beads, candles for a nice bubble bath
  • Give nail polish, nail polish remover, finger nail file, clippers, and such as that and place in a clear bag tie with ribbon to match the color of the shower

You can wrap the prizes in clear cello and tie with a pretty bow so everyone can see what they are playing to win.

Display the baby shower prizes on a table with a pretty tablecloth.

Diaper M&M's Baby Shower Favor

Diaper M&M's Baby Shower Favor

Submitted by JoAnne from New York

I didn't want to spend the money on baby socks so I created diapers.

1. Place 1/4 cup m&ms or small jelly beans in the corner of a sandwich bag. Tape off above the candy and cut off extra.

2. Cut pieces of white fabric into a 5x5 square. Fold in triangle, place baggy "in" diaper like a baby. Bring center up and the sides in, securing with a small safety pin.

3. Use ribbon on top to decorate. some tape may be required to keep diaper in place.

Baby Shower Candles

Submitted by Sherry from Kentucky

For my sister's baby shower (she was having a girl), I bought various scented Yankee Candles in the small jars and I printed out the following poem on clear labels and stuck it onto the jar's (the back side):

With the flicker of this candle's flame,
say a prayer in baby's name.

Then I put each candle jar in a small pink see-thru draw-string bag.

They were a hit!!

Everyone loved them and of course, everyone loves Yankee candles.

You can also use a tea-light candle, wrap it in blue or pink tulle and attach a tag with the poem on it.

You can even try to find pink, blue or yellow tea-light candles. Needless to say, this is MUCH cheaper.

Baby Shower Candy Bouquet

Submitted by Kimberly from Alabaster, AL

Candy Bouquet {Image found at http://www.chocolate-candy-mall.com/Charmingly_Chocolate-candy-bouquet-chocolate-bouquets.html}

To make this cute "Baby Shower Candy Bouquet" prize:

Glue each candy bar to a wooden skewer (you can use regular sized candy bars or the miniature version, your choice) and arrange them as you would flowers in a flower pot or vase.

To make the skewers stay in the vase and not move all around you can add a block of green floral foam (found at any craft store) and then insert the pointy side of each skewer into the floral foam. Place some shredded colored paper in the vase first so you can't see the floral foam.

If using a flower pot, place the foam in and glue the shredded paper on top to cover.

Add a cute ribbon and a cute tag saying "You're SWEET! Congratulations!"

TIP: This Baby Shower Candy Bouquet makes the perfect baby shower prize idea for the popular "Candy Bar Game" (you can find the complete instructions for the Candy Bar Game here)

It also makes a great prize for the "Dirty Diaper Game" which can be found here

If using this as a prize for the above game(s) use the candy bars that are used in the games for the bouquet.

This is such a great and festive baby shower favor to give! Everyone loves cinnamon rolls so why not give them as favors!

For my baby shower, all the guests received a wrapped up cinnamon roll from a bakery.

Hanging from the ribbon holding the wrap together was a tag that said, "Thank you, from mommy-to-be's name bun in the oven." Everyone loved the idea and the cinnamon rolls were extra yummy!

Co-ed Baby Shower Favors

Co-ed Baby Shower Favors and Prize Ideas

I hosted my first baby shower and it was a couples baby shower.

My biggest problem was finding guy-type co-ed baby shower favors and game gifts.

I wanted fun items that were reusable. Favors that they wouldn't just toss out or leave sitting around collecting dust.

I tried to think like a guy! So I ended up in the auto/car care section of a Walmart (although you can go anywhere) and found lots of cool, inexpensive car (guy) goodies.

Air fresheners, special themed keys, window stickers, chammy cloths, Armor All, tools, etc... They were a smash hit with my guy friends!

For the wives and girlfriends I had nail polish, coffee gift cards, bath stuff such as soaps, lotions and bath beads.

I had a "Guy" table and a "Girl" table for the favors to sit on. The guy table had a camouflage table cloth with a cute streamer going along the edges of it that was made using a fishing wire with several items tied to it such as golf tees, golf balls, peanuts in the shell, beer caps, fishing lures, etc.

The favors where on the table for the men to take as they left the baby shower.

The "Girl" table had a pink table cloth with a pink feathered boa for the streamer. The boa was bedazzled with rhinestones, glitter and sequins!

This was so much fun to do and it really didn't take all that much time. The guests got a kick out of it!

It made the shower have a fun and relaxed feel instead of the uncomfortable, stuffy feeling you get at some baby showers.

If you are looking for a baby shower favor or prize ideas that will fit both men and women so you don't have to buy separate favors the candy barrels above would be perfect!

Everyone loves candy and I think you can get a baby carriage put on the front of them!

These can be found at Beau-Coup.com

A few more great gender neutral baby shower prize and favor ideas are:

  • Gift cards to a coffeehouse or Starbucks with a coffee mug
  • A gift card to the movie theater with a pack of candy or popcorn make great prizes for Co-Ed shower games!
  • These can be less than $10 easily, making it great for showers with lots of games!

Baby Bottle Bath Salts

Baby Bottle Bath Salts

Submitted by Rose from Billings, Montana

Baby Bottle Bath Salts
{picture from www.etsy.com/shop/ScrubsbyStudds}

My friend makes these great bath salts.

So when I was asked to do a baby shower for one of my friends, I asked my friend to make me 3 large mason jars of bath salts in pink and purple.

I made 20 favors of bath salts.

First I poured the salts into the bottles, tied a ribbon around the bottle that said "its a girl" and attached a cute tiny pacifier on the ribbon.

These favors were a huge hit and a great way to thank guests for coming to the baby shower!

Note from editor (Amy):

I love this baby shower favor idea!

Below is a wonderful bath salt recipe that is quick and easy!

* 1 pound sea salt, epsom salt, or a mixture of both

* 20 drops of any essential oil scent (mandarin, almond or vanilla are popular) - you can buy essential oils at vitamin supplement stores, health food stores, etc.

* Add a few drops of food coloring to match the theme of the baby shower. (optional)

You can pour the bath salts into little baby bottles and add a cute ribbon and favor tag!

Or, (I saw this on a blog recently and it was adorable) fill a mason jar with bath salts, add the lid and a cute ribbon, then glue a baby bottle nipple to the top of the mason jar to resemble a bottle. Using mason jars will take up more of your bath salts, so this option may be better to give away as prizes for baby shower games.

Another idea is to make a bath salt, sachet making station where guests can make their own cute baby shower favors in the scent of their choice.

Start by purchasing several different kinds of already made bath salts in different colors and scents.

Pour them each into separate ceramic or glass bowls.

Place the bowls at a decorated table and add wooden scoops or regular spoons into each bowl.

At the table also have circle netting or organza pouches (you can find these at your local dollar store) along with some spools of ribbon.

Each guest can pick out the salts she likes, tie it into a sachet and create her own favor right on the spot!

Christmas Baby Shower Favors

Christmas Baby Shower Favors

Cookie Baby Shower Favors {image found at: http://oneordinaryday.wordpress.com/2010/03/11/thin-mints/}

Below are a few of my favorite Christmas and Holiday themed baby shower favor and prize ideas!

*This is an amazing favor idea that tastes absolutely delicious! ...and it is so simple to make! There are a whopping TWO ingredients required!

Take a bag of Andes Creme De Menthe baking chips, put them into a bowl and microwave them in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted.

Using a fork, dip a Ritz cracker into the bowl of melted chocolate and lay onto waxed paper to cool.

When completely cool place 5 cookies each into cute bags and tie with a ribbon or bakers twine.

*Get some mini gift boxes (at craft stores) and fill them with little candies. Then wrap the boxes in plain red, green or white paper and tie a cute Christmas-themes ribbon around each box.

You can even tie on a cute decoration such as a mini candy cane or mini ornament.

Attach a cute little gift tag that says thank you and includes the shower info (date, mother's name)
Pass out to each guest as they leave.

*Hand out miniature Poinsettia plants as favors or prizes. Include a cute favor tag that says "Happy Holidays - A Baby's Blooming!"

*Another Christmas favor idea is to tie a winter-themed bow around a candy cane along with a cute gift tag that has the shower info on it. Stamp with a holiday stamp or sticker.

*Visit Bath And Body Works and look for their adorable miniature holiday candles, hand sanitizers, hand lotions, lip gloss. Bundle up in a cute bag and attach a favor tag and a cute bow! These are something that will be used by the guests and won't just get thrown away when they get home.

*Hand out cute ornaments

*Put some cocoa mix in a clear bag and place in a holiday mug. Add a candy cane and wrap in cellophane. Tie with a cute bow and a gift tag the reads: Happy Holidays ~ You're so sweet! Thanks for coming to _______'s baby shower!

*Give $5 Starbucks gift cards - they have cute packaging ideas at Starbucks like little mittens and gift boxes.

Thanks for the great ideas Gina! For more cute Christmas baby shower ideas - Be sure to visit our Christmas theme page!
