Blues & Bears Diaper Cake
Blues & Bears Diaper Cake I followed a standard 3 tier diaper cake instruction. I added ribbons in blues & browns, travel size baby items tied with ribbon, and hand painted his name and train topper. This was my 2nd attempt at a baby shower cake!

Blanky bear diaper cake

Blanky bear diaper cake
This diaper cake I made for my friend who is due in June.
She is not over the top so I made something simple but with a little funk to fit her personality.
I had the burp cloth and nursing cover blanket made in the funky design and colors she was wanting. I usually buy my custom stuff from www.etsy.com.
I bought the bear (it is one with the nature and heartbeat sounds) Added a snuggie blanket with ladybug and another blanket behind the bear wrapped around a diaper covered dowel for stability.
The base is made up of diapers and another receiving blanket underneath so the diapers don't get dirty. I really like it because it's simple but cute. Hope you like it. :0)

I made these diaper cakes for my uncle's girlfriend and her sister in law, whom I'd never met before the double baby shower.
They are due 10 days apart. They had no themes for their baby girls on the way. I made a 3 tiered diaper cake for each of them out of 1 pkg. of size 2 Huggies pure & natural diapers.
I like them because they are quality diapers with less dye than most others.I used a poster tube for the support in the middle and cardboard cake circles for in between layers and bottom of cakes. I rolled each diaper with goody clear rubber bands.
I used a extra large rubber band to hold the diapers on the bottom layer and a large for the middle tier and a medium for the top tier. I glued all the ribbon layers together before placing on the diaper cake and only hot glued the very ends that overlapped.
I took receiving blanket and shaped and stuffed them down in the tube from the top, then took the teddy bears and attached them with clear goody rubber bands.
I banded their arms together to hold the blanket and then their tails to the back.. no one could figure out how they were staying on so well. I took the original ribbons off the teddy bears and redecorated them with ribbons I was using for the cakes. I think they turned out cute.

ingredients: @ 80 stage 1 diapers rubber bands double sided tape 8 ft of pink & black zebra print two " wide ribbon 2 'punk princess' pink pacifiers 2 pacifier clippies Johnson's take along travel pack 1 teddy bear with a pink bow i pink rattle two pink teethers two Johnson & Johnson soap bars (they smell delicious) pink gum i baby q-tip box (under bear) 2 bottles (one inside, one outside for decor) 1 large rectangular piece of cardboard / poster board(thick)
This is the first time I've attempted to make a diaper cake, and its for my daughters shower. I went with zebra print ribbon because she loves pink and black zebra print.
I rolled and rubber banded the diapers together, using one bottle at the bottom center. I used double sided sticky tape to hold the ribbon on, and some of the decor. I spent approximately $75.00 on the ingredients. Had fun making it!
