Blue and Brown Polka Dot Cake

Blue and Brown Polka Dot Cake This is a three tier square lemon pound cake. It is iced in American buttercream and the accents are fondant. Everything is edible, even the mommy holding her belly! The mommy and the bow were made a few days ahead and set to dry. I used gumpaste tools to mold most of the pieces. My favorite and most valuable tool is my exacto knife. The mommy is all built and molded in one piece and she has a pretzel rod stuck in the top of her into the cake so she stays in place. The bottles and pacified were all hand made (no molds used) with gumpaste tools as well and are all out of fondant. See more cute baby shower cakes
