Baby Clothes Shower Theme

This is a fun baby shower theme with tons of ideas available!

For the Decorations:

Take a 6-8 foot string and hang it from the wall, clothes-pin baby clothes, socks, hats, etc. to it.
(the cutest way to do this is to buy a few items and have them hanging on the line - then as the mom-to-be is opening presents, you can also hang the baby clothes she gets on the line too!)

Buy bouquets of flowers that go with the outdoor laundry theme.

A great gift idea is to fill a laundry basket with onesies, socks, baby laundry detergent, fabric softener, diapers, wipes etc.

Make sugar cookies in shapes of clothes with pastel frosting to match the baby's sex (if known) and name (if known.) You can either serve these on a tray or package them up in cellophane and give them away as baby shower favors.

For games you can play:
Guess the size of mom's belly by using a length of toilet paper; name that baby food; and fill a laundry basket full of baby clothes and time each person to see who can fold the clothes the fastest.

This way the theme is not too over-the-top, or too girly or boyish. Enjoy and have fun!

Baby Clothing Blooming Bouquet

Looking for a practical and unique gift or centerpiece for the baby shower?

Similar to the baby sock bouquets- these arrangements use full baby layettes: sleepers, onesies, blankets, washcloths, lap pads and more.

The instructions are simple.

Items needed: basket, baby clothes, elastic bands (I prefer the clear Goodie ones for hair, silk flowers, silk stems, ribbon, craft sticks

Step 1: Roll baby item tightly and secure with elastic band. For socks, bibs, and washclothes- I use a craft stick inside to allow for the "bloom" to blossom out of the bouquet.

Step 2: Arrange items tightly inside basket so that you may flip the basket over and nothing falls out.

Step 3: Add silk leaves to the edge of the basket by tucking them tightly between the basket edge and the rolled baby items.

Step 4: Add silk floral stems to empty spots in the bouquet.

Step 5: Use a clear glue to trim the basket handle with ribbon saying "Its a Girl" or "Its a Boy"

These are always a HUGE hit at showers!

Baby Shower Clothes Line Theme

This Baby Shower Clothes Line Theme is a cute idea for an outdoor baby shower.

When inviting friends, ask that they bring one small unwrapped article for baby to wear.

Before the guests arrive, have a clothes line and pins strung about the party area.

As guests arrive and articles are received, place them on the lines strung.

This makes for a good conversation starter for an unrelated group. Plus mom to be gets many nice pieces to add to baby's closet.
