Detailed Steps Of A Baby Shower

by Syl

I just hosted a baby shower for my daughter and got frustrated about not being able to find what I wanted for decorations, unable to narrow down the menu and doing it all by myself.

I decided I would call and find out who was coming for sure because no one rsvp and then I started my menu.

I served pasta salad, tuna salad, deviled eggs, mini sandwiches & meatballs (easy foods).

I made teddy bear lollipops in yellow, light green, light blue and pink and put a ribbon with teddies(purchased at Michaels arts & craft store) of the same colors inside a glass dish and that was the centerpieces.

I ordered a cake from a nearby bakery.

Preparing these simple foods took approx. 2-3 hours and did not require heating up and was said to be very delicious.

For the sandwiches I used mini potato dinner rolls instead of cutting regular bread and purchased ham, turkey and cheese from the deli.

I used baby colored (mentioned above) streamers across the ceiling and balloons.

I used a helium tank and let them stay where they ended up at and didn't have to worry aboout them being in the way or the children popping them before the party began.

I made punch and made a teddy bear ice mold that floated on top of the punch and I didn't have to worry about it tasting watered down because the punch was so good it went fast.

I recruited several members of the family to help at the shower because I was exhausted from decorating & preparing the food.

I had one daughter to make plates, the other grandma to start the games and the other daughter to receive the gifts.

There were 25 guest and the only regret is that I didn't get any pictures of the beautiful decorations, guests or food.

The photographer only got the cake and my pregnant daughter.

I am still hearing about how nice it was. Imagination can turn simple things into something fabulous.
