Monkey Boy 3-Tier Diaper Cake

Monkey Boy 3-Tier Diaper Cake

I made this Monkey boy 3-tier diaper cake for my daughter's baby shower. In the picture I am submitting, it is only showing (3) 8"inch one layer diapers it should have been (5) 8"inch one layer diaper cakes circling around the 3-tier diaper cake. I made a total of 8 diaper cakes.

I used:

141 size 2 diapers
6 1/2 yards of brown ribbon
6 1/2 yards of baby blue ribbon (It's a boy!) reading in the middle of the ribbon.
2 Blue baby spoons
2 Green baby spoons
8 1/2 Yards brown lace
8 1/2 Yards baby blue lace
5 Yards white beads
8"inch cake board
14"inch cake board
Baby blue baby blocks (party favors)
5 Baby blue baby buggies (party favors)
5 Baby blue baby rattles (party favors)
1 Baby bottle (party favors)
1 Baby blue heavy weight balloon holder
2 Baby blue buttons
2 White head pins
6 Baby blue baby booties (party favors)
6 Baby blue mother pins (party favors)
1 Monkey stuffed animal
5 paper plates
1 16.9fl oz empty water bottle
2 Wooden dowls
Bag of rubber bans
8 Cotton balls

For the bottom tier of the diaper cake, I rolled 55 diapers with rubber bans. Then I started to wrap the rolled diapers around the empty water bottle. Second 10"in. tier, I used 22 rolled diapers and wrapped around the empty water bottle where you longer see the water bottle.

Then, I place the 2-tier diaper cake onto a 14" cake board. On the 10" round diaper, I insert the baby spoons alternating colors. Then, I took the cotton and starting filling the gaps in between the diaper and the water bottle. Then I place the balloon heavy weight in the center of the 10"in diaper cake. The third tier, I rolled 14 diapers with rubber bans to a 8"in diaper cake.

Then, I took the 8"in cake board a made a slit in the center of the cake board. I placed the 8"in diaper cake on top of the cake board. I rolled (5) 8"in one layer diaper cakes, I used 14 diapers for each.

Then, I took the 5 paper plates and glued 1 plate on top of each of the (5) 8"in one layer diaper cakes. Then, I started to wrapping the brown ribbon around all diaper cakes covering the rubber bans. The I wrapped the baby blue ribbon in the middle of the brown ribbon.

With the remaining brown ribbon, I made 3 bows and glued them onto the each of the 3-tier diaper cake. I took the mother pins and pinned one to the 10"in diaper cake in the center of the brown bow and the other mother pins were pinned onto ea of the (5) 8"in one layer diaper cake.

I glued one baby buggy on the (5) 8"in one layer diaper cakes. I glued the baby blocks in between the baby spoons and glued the baby rattles on the edge of the 10"in diaper cake.

Then I inserted the wooden dowels onto the top of the tier of the diaper cake. Then placed the monkey in between the wooden dowels so the monkey stays in place. Then put the baby bottle one of the legs of the monkey along with 1 baby rattle.

Hope the instructions are clear. I really enjoyed making this monkey boy 3-tier diaper cake for my daughter. She is having a boy!

Brown & Blue Polka Dot Diaper Cake

This Brown & Blue Polka Dot Diaper Cake has 4 tiers with 80 diapers.

I put the cake on a 12" cake board covered with blue tissue paper.

I attached brown & blue polka dot ribbon to each tier and added scrapbooking embellishments with double sided tape.

There are 2 burp cloths on each side attached with ribbon.

The top is made with 5 diapers that are wrapped around 4 washcloths tied together with ribbon.

A teddy bear was added to the top with a rubberband.

Blue Three Tier Baby Boy Diaper Cake

I made this "Our Baby" boy diaper cake for my soon to be born grandson's baby shower.

I rolled 80 newborn diapers to make it three tiers and tied each layer with blue gingham and baby footprint ribbon.

I added 6 baby boy washcloths, a Johnson's travel set, 2 pairs of booties, 4 pair of socks, 1 rattle, 1 teething ring, 1 teething key ring, two pacifiers (tied with baby blue ribbon), two baby spoons and a blue hairbrush and comb.

Embellished each tier with baby boy scrapbook stickers and topped it off with a baby blue "Angel Bear".

Three-Tiered It's A Boy Diaper Cake

by S. R. R.

Three-Tiered It's A Boy Diaper Cake!

Three-Tiered It's A Boy Diaper Cake!

Three-tiered - It's a boy diaper cake:

Materials

1. 50-60 Size 2 Diapers
2. Thick Ribbons & Thin Ribbons
3. Tape/Rubber Bands
4. Clear Wrap (enough to cover the entire thing)
5. Circular cardboard cut-out for the base
6. Any other little gifts you might want to stick on it.
7. Teddy Bear, nice sized

I mostly worked on this by eye, and did not actually count how many of what I was using. I just filled it up with whatever looked good.

The very top part is three diapers formed into a pyramid. You can make that easily and set it aside. The second top layer is a rolled up diaper in the center and five around it, rolled up as well.

Then you take about 4-5 diapers and wrap those around the layer and tie it off with a ribbon. These are not rolled up, just wrapped around.

With the same process, make a slightly larger layer for the third layer and so on.

Oh right, I used tape, it can be a bit of a hassle if you're not patient :P some people use rubber bands, but I find they squish the diapers too much.

Blue Baby Boy Diaper Cake

Baby Boy Diaper Cake

Below are directions for making this cute diaper cake:

I used a cake board as the base and just rolled up many diapers, laid them flat on a table, taped the top part so that it made a straight line and then lifted the diapers onto their side. I then attached each end with tape and filled it in with more diapers. After it was stabled I would pull out random diapers around the perimeter and replace them with a baby cloth rolled up. I did this for three layers and after each layer was done I surrounded it with blue ribbon and then laid sheer polka dot ribbon over that. I then tucked in lots of baby things like pacifiers, little booties etc... I top the diaper cake with a bear and had a ribbon to top him.

Editor's Note: I love the polka dot ribbon! It really adds to the cuteness of the cake. Some additional ideas for adding to the cake are bibs, rattles, teething rings, bottles, nail clippers, nose suckers and a thermometer.

Blue and Brown Polka Dot Diaper Cake

by Dona

Blue and Brown Polka Dot Diaper Cake

Blue and Brown Polka Dot Diaper Cake

Blue and Brown Polka Dot Diaper Cake

Materials:

  • approx 60 diapers (newborn size)

  • gift wrap ribbon (blue)

  • Brown and White Polka dot ribbon (Michaels Crafts)

  • Blue ribbon (Michaels)

  • Accessories ie: pacifiers, onesies, bibs, burp rag, socks, small stuffed animals, bath stuff

1) Roll each diaper with the print inside or out depending on your preference. Tie it closed with gift wrap ribbon. (A better idea is to use rubber bands but in this case I tied each one with blue ribbon.)

2) Tie each rolled diaper to another in a spiral/circle rotation. Start with one in the center and work around it. I made my topper first with 8 diapers. I suggest making the topper first so you can gauge the size of the next layer afterwards.

3) Follow step 2 for the middle and bottom layers. For the middle layer add one additional row around the original 8 diapers. For the bottom layer add two rows to the original 8 diapers.

4) Stack the layers on top of each other and wrap the ribbons around the bottom half to define the separation of layers.

5) I wrapped the middle layer with a matching blanket then wrapped the ribbon around that.

6) Add accessories. Put a stuffed animal on the topper to top it off.

7) I made origami onesies to look like small elephants. To do this I Googled towel origami and found a website that gave step by step instructions on how to make origami elephants out of towels. My onesies were not as great looking as the towels but hey they were cute and it got a lot of good reviews. I placed those around the cake not on it.

2 Tier Boys Summer Time Pull Up Cake

2 Tier Boys Summer Time Pull Up Cake

Toddlers Summer Swim Pull Up Cake

I've made some diaper cakes and was having fun with them so I decided to try a boy's pull up cake. I think it turned out adorable. :)

It's 2 tiers with 33 size 3-4 pull ups. On top of the 2nd tier is some toys to give the cake some height.
I have on the cake:
33 pull ups (size 3-4)
Squeeze water toys
Sand and water set
Garden hand tools
Sun screen
Sun glasses
Beach towel
Swimming trunks

The pull ups are held together with one rubber band per tier, and then ribbon.
