Forest Friends baby Shower cake
A week before the cake was due to be at the baby shower, I hand sculpted a fondant bear, a doe, a fox and an owl. This cake was inspired by the Forest Friends nursery set at Burlington Coat Factory. The animals replicated those! I baked a 2 layer 6 inch and a 2 layer 10 inch square tiers. Stacked and iced light blue. I cut green, tan, white and brown circles out of fondant to match the forest friends background and stuck them to side of both tiers. I also cut out leaves using a leaf impressor and put on some circles like the background of the forest friends decor. I made a light green fondant bow for the side and added a light green dot border using tip 12. I stuck on the forest friends with inserting toothpicks into the animals then into the cake.
