I made this diaper cake for my youngest sister. Her theme was yellow/purple/pink and butterflies for her baby girl on the way. I made a 4 tiered diaper cake out of 2 pkgs. of size 2 Huggies natural diapers. I like them because they are quality diapers with less dye than most others.I used a poster tube for the support in the middle. I rolled the artificial flowers in a diaper and put it is the top of the tube. I used a extra large rubber band to hold the diapers in the 2 bottom tiers and a large for the 3rd tier and a medium for the top tier. I glued all the ribbon layers together before placing on the diaper cake and only hot glued the very ends that overlapped. I used butterflies on the flowers and ribbon to give it that last touch. This was very easy and simple and I think turned out cute.

I stacked all of the diapers into 3 layers. I used red and black tool, and red and black ribbon. I also hand painted the bottle red and black, with the babies name on it.

Hidden inside of the diaper cake are baby toiletry set, (2) bibs and baby mittens. Each tier is wrapped with yellow grosgrain and black and white polka dot ribbon.
The tiers are embellished with buzzing honey bees, a bee hive and a honey pot. The cake is topped with two color coordinating flower buds.

First I started with two Gerber glass bottles, filled with knick knacks for baby and a personal note to my sister..I started rolling diapers around the bottle using elastics and when i got a big enough base, repeated to a second, third and forth level.
I bought wooden letters painted them in the different colors then painted a sparkle over top to add some fun. I used wooden dowels to keep the layers together as well as the two baby bottles in the middle of the cake which you cannot see.
I then attached "giggle" letters on the bottom to match the top letters "baby" Using flower petals and push pins i started inserting flowers randomly throughout the cake as well as beautiful butterflies. The ribbon around the cake is to hide the elastics and makes the "gender neutral" look come together.

I started with a 12 inch Wilton cake board and 51 diapers. For each tier, I took one diaper and rolled it up and secured it with a rubber band.
I then took more diaper and wrapped them around the middle diaper, overlapping them, and with the decorated side of the diaper facing the middle of the tier so it wouldn't show.
I kept overlapping diapers, tying layers with ribbons as needed until I go the layer as large as I need it. I then tied the tier with ribbon, and worked on the smaller tiers.
I did each tier the same way. When I was done with all three tiers, I then wrapped them all with wide, wired edged red ribbon. I used a hot glue gun to secure the ribbon to itself to keep it around the tier. I did not use any hot glue on any diapers, they are all usable.
I did each tier like this, and then I attached the wooden ladybugs, also using the hot glue gun. The tiers are stacked on each other, no glue or tape holds them in place as to not mess up the diapers. Each tier is "iced" with iridescent shreds as "frosting" for the final touch. The whole cake is wrapped in a cellophane basket bag and tied with a pull bow.
The bag is what keeps the tiers from sliding around and secures the cake. I put a lot of love into this cake and it is my favorite diaper cake! Thank you for taking the time to look at it and read my description!
