Ladybug Diaper Cake
I started with a 12 inch Wilton cake board and 51 diapers. For each tier, I took one diaper and rolled it up and secured it with a rubber band.
I then took more diaper and wrapped them around the middle diaper, overlapping them, and with the decorated side of the diaper facing the middle of the tier so it wouldn't show.
I kept overlapping diapers, tying layers with ribbons as needed until I go the layer as large as I need it. I then tied the tier with ribbon, and worked on the smaller tiers.
I did each tier the same way. When I was done with all three tiers, I then wrapped them all with wide, wired edged red ribbon. I used a hot glue gun to secure the ribbon to itself to keep it around the tier. I did not use any hot glue on any diapers, they are all usable.
I did each tier like this, and then I attached the wooden ladybugs, also using the hot glue gun. The tiers are stacked on each other, no glue or tape holds them in place as to not mess up the diapers. Each tier is "iced" with iridescent shreds as "frosting" for the final touch. The whole cake is wrapped in a cellophane basket bag and tied with a pull bow.
The bag is what keeps the tiers from sliding around and secures the cake. I put a lot of love into this cake and it is my favorite diaper cake! Thank you for taking the time to look at it and read my description!
