Bottle Overboard Cake submitted by Ashlee from Hampton, NH

I made the base a 10" cake and covered in blue fondant.

The boat was (4)- 8" cakes stacked and cut into the shape of the boat then covered in brown fondant. I drew in the lines to make it look like wood.

The duck was made of fondant and gum paste and so was the bottle, life rings, and rope.

I used wooden dowels to help support the boat on the base.

Ahoy It's A Boy Cake

I made this 3 tier cake for my best friend's baby shower.

It consists of 3 round cakes one large, one medium, one small.

Then I frosted them with butter cream and covered them in a tinted marshmallow fondant, which I made myself.

Nautical Baby Cake

For this 'Nautical Baby Cake' I created a 2 layer white cake with chocolate butter cream icing.

The cake is covered in marshmallow fondant, as well as decorations.

The baby's head and body are Styrofoam balls covered with fondant, and baby details and blanket are made with fondant as well.

I made a home made chocolate cake with home made chocolate butter cream icing.

Cover the three square tiers with home made marshmallow fondant that was dyed baby blue and brown.

I hand sculpted the baby with the marshmallow fondant using a tooth pick wrapped in aluminum foil for the head and floral wire for the body.

The tree was made with an ice cream cone alternating layers of fondant.I made the pond with piping gel and blue food coloring. This was the first cake that I have ever sculpted or done in tiers.

Blue & Purple Octopus Cake

Submitted by Barbie from Austin, TX

The baby's room was decorated in sea creatures so the mom requested a cake that was in keeping with that theme.

I used a Styrofoam ball for the octopus body rather than making a round cake for the top as the base cake was so big already and it was much easier to work with the Styrofoam than it would have been had it been made of cake.

Just star-ice the Styrofoam like you would if it were cake. I used a fruit filling between the three thin layers and then decorated as you see in the picture.

This is my favorite cake that I've ever made and it was a big hit. I haven't been able to top it yet.

We designed these printable boats just for you! Simply click on the pictures below to open up the PDF file, print them onto white card stock, cut out and get crafty!

You can use these in so many adorable and crafty ways! My favorite is to make a simple, round, 2 or 3 layer cake; Frost it smoothly with white frosting; then poke one of the boats into the top center of the cake. (Attach a wooden skewer or dowel to the paper boat and tie a small ribbon just under the boat) so easy, affordable and cute!

These boats come in two color schemes: blue, green and orange - or red and blue.

Hop over to our printable shop {PrintItBaby.com} to see our popular, printable anchor water bottle labels!

You can also use them to make cute napkin rings. Another cute idea is to tie a Lifesaver around the napkins with jute or string to resemble a life preserver!

Tie the whole nautical theme together by getting scrapbook paper in the same color scheme or with boats or anchors and use as place mats, cut into shapes and poke into food dishes and cupcakes, cut into strips and tape around glass vases or pillar candles.
