Nautical Theme Baby Shower

Here are some ideas for a baby shower with a Nautical Theme:

Some great decoration items are:


  • seashells

  • life preservers

  • rope

  • put plastic anchors into potted plants

  • sailor hats

  • fill empty baby food jars with sand and mini shells and top with a tea lite

  • make a flag banner by taking a rope and gluing red, blue and white fabric triangles to it. Spell out "Baby Shower" using alphabet stickers (found at craft stores) on the triangles.


For a baby shower centerpiece idea, take a large plastic boat and fill it with baby goodies like booties, pacifiers, onesies, toys, etc.

For favors, wrap packages of Life Savers in blue paper and attach a cute tag to it saying: Ahoy! It's A Boy!

I would like to know what did the girl who made the fishing pole use. Did she make the fishing pole??? This idea was from 7/18/2009. Please help. Thank you

I used little white tin buckets and hot glued red, blue and white wooden sailboats (from Michaels, .25 each) on the outside of the tin. Inside I added life savers in some and swedish fish in others (children). I added a tag on the handle "thank you"

I took little rustic buckets filled them with Swedish Fish candies wrapped in Blue lace tied with bubble ribbon. Then put it in the bucket with a mini Fishing Pole sticking out with a trinket hanging like a hook saying It's a Boy. They turned out so cute they were the hit of the shower...

I wanted something different for favors for a baby shower. I took the lifesaver idea a step further by making an origami sailboat and adding lifesavers in the boat. I also took shrinky dinks film from a local craft store and made little nautical charms to tie on.

For favors, I purchased cute little buckets and chocolate seashells, wrapped in a cellophane bag and tied with string.

Wonderful ideas!

Another nautical idea is to make anchor shaped sugar cookies, frost them and wrap them in cellophane.
