Pickles & Ice Cream

Pickles And Ice Cream Baby Shower Idea...

A friend of mine was a having a baby girl and she decorated her room in pink & green. I wanted to do something different for this church sponsored baby shower.

I came up with a pickles & ice cream theme, using pink & green.

I posted flyers around church decorated w/pickles & ice cream.

I went to the scrapbook store and picked up a page w/pickles & ice cream stickers to decorate it and placed a lined page in the center for people to sign in. This would later be added to her scrapbook.

I also cut out pickle & ice cream (in cone) shaped pieces of paper in pink & green and placed them in front of a pretty lined basket.

A sign next to it said for people to write a piece of advice or encouragement on one of the pieces then place it in the basket.

Next, I decorated small glass ice cream bowls with pink/green striped bows and mixed pink (cotton candy flavored) & green (apple flavored) jelly bellies and placed them in different rooms of the house we held it at.

We served a green sherbet punch and had plenty of finger foods and fruit. We used pink & green decorations and it went beautifully. So much fun! She loved her Pickles And Ice Cream Baby Shower!

This is such a cute theme that if I hadn't already planned for a Wedgewood blue and chocolate brown shower, I'd use this one! If you wanted to plan it for a boy, you could use green and vanilla.....you could make your own food picks by cutting out little green card stock pickles (or use a copy or a sticker)and then gluing/taping them to long food picks.
You could also incorporate green pickles into your cake decor and serve with vanilla icing. Cucumber sandwiches with dill mayo could also stand for finger food....vanilla colored 2" favor boxes tied with green satin ribbon could be filled with chocolates or Jordan almonds as favors..........the possibilities of this theme are endless...Love it!
Guests could write down there guesses of what they think the mommy-to-be had been craving. Guests who were closest could win a prize (a pickle ornament! Lol!)

One of my closest friends did this shower for her sister and used lime green and pink. Some of the ideas she went with were using empty pickle jars as flower vases on the tables or she also knows someone who makes candles and the pickle jars could also serve as candles. Also empty ice cream pints are too cute with a can sitting inside with an actual potted plant/flower matching the shower theme. Her invitations were of a mod mom. VERY cute shower idea!!!!!
