Under the Sea Adventure
Last summer I hosted a baby shower with an "Under the Sea" theme, and it turned out so cute! I wanted to share some of the details in case you're looking for a unique and fun theme for your next baby shower.
First, we decorated the space with lots of blue and green streamers to create an underwater feel. The picture above is one of the decor items we used - cool jelly fish streamers that I found here.
We hung fish-shaped balloons and used netting to drape across the walls and ceiling. We also had inflatable sea creatures like starfish, seahorses, and octopuses scattered around the room - I got these all on Amazon for pretty cheap.
For the tables, we used blue tablecloths and added seashells, sand dollars, and small jars filled with sand and mini sea creatures as centerpieces. Each place setting had a cute little "message in a bottle" thank you note from the mom-to-be, which doubled as a favor keepsake for the guests.
Our food and drinks were all sea-themed too. We live on the west coast so it was easy to have a "seafood feast" with fresh shrimp, oysters and crab, crab dip and bread, "ocean water" punch made with blue Kool-Aid and pineapple juice, and cupcakes decorated with blue frosting and gummy fish. One of the biggest hits was the fruit platter shaped like a fish, with slices of kiwi, strawberries, and blueberries arranged to look like scales.
For activities, we had a "mermaid photo booth" with fun props like mermaid tails, shell crowns, and tridents. Guests could take pictures and create lasting memories. We also played a game called "Guess the Number of Fish," where guests guessed how many Swedish fish candies were in a jar. The winner got to take home the jar of candies and a small gift.
This Under the Sea baby shower theme was so much fun to put together, and from the comments, everyone loved it and had a great time. It was so much fun to act like a fancy party planner and pick out all of the decorations, food, and activities - they all tied together perfectly. If you're looking for a unique and enchanting theme, this one was my fav!
